About
The Personal Insolvency Litigation Advice and Representation Scheme (‘PILARS’) has been created to provide free representation for unrepresented debtors, facing creditors’ bankruptcy petitions, who need legal assistance but cannot obtain public funding nor afford to pay for it. PILARS is currently running as a pilot scheme, under which PILARS matches volunteer barristers with litigants seeking advice through the Royal Courts of Justice Advice Bureau.
Volunteer barristers come from a number of leading civil sets;
- 4 Stone Buildings
- 4 New Square
- Maitland Chambers
